Full disclosure: At the ACPT last month, Kevin told me about the general theme for his NYT,so I probably finished a little faster than I would have otherwise (35A was a gimme, for example). I didn't know anything about the 'structural' aspects of the puzzle, so there were still some surprises.
Also, the Post Puzzler is not abnormally difficult this week; I confidently filled in two completely wrong answers in the SE corner, and it took me a long time to suss out my mistakes

i thought the post puzzler was abnormally difficult this week, although i had no particular difficulty with the SE. just hard all around.
