There's the rare themed Friday. I think I had a sub-4 Friday on a David Kahn offering a few years back that was themed, the THRILLAINMANILA puzzle, maybe? Something Ali-Frazier related.
I finished the MGWCC puzzle late Monday night, having started it Saturday afternoon. Took 4:15 (on paper) to do everything but the NW corner. A few minutes later I stopped the timer and put the paper aside. Took a look at it a couple more times, but those 9 boxes remained empty. Finally tonight I had an idea for 1-Across, which seems to have worked out. Now to think about the meta...

Misread the clue for 8D in the NYT, so spent a lot of time in the top center. Rest of the puzzle went very smoothly.
Ugh, doesn't seem right that hitting the back button would repost a comment. Sorry for all the clutter.
Takes me ten seconds to clean it up! I'm only leaving that second (nee third) comment up as a public service...
Dan, I find it very hard to believe that you still haven't done the wednesday NYT.

I think it's my fastest non-theme Friday NYT. Go me!
Aren't *all* fri NYTs non-theme?

Never watched 90210 so missed a letter in the name at 49A in the MGWCC.
