I'm almost certain that I haven't really finished the Blindauer puzzle, but I don't know what else to do. Every box is filled in, and I believe each box contains a letter that should be in there, but the title seems to imply that my grid is still incomplete. I haven't fully grokked the gimmick, but I feel like I should be very impressed.

No idea what else is going on. Maybe the title is because it's a dirty trick? There better be something else, because otherwise it's not that impressive, just annoying!

(um, you only have one letter per box?)

have you solved all of the clues? if so, then you are done.

i had a pretty satisfying "aha" moment with this one, i have to say.

I have two letters in most of them, but in situations where I inferred a word (i.e. most of the long entries)I only bothered to fill in one letter. This is what I was implying in my previous post; every square is filled in, but not all of them have 2 letters, which is why I assumed I didn't finish.

So, is this really supposed to be a puzzle where no two clues have answers that cross each other?

i repeat: when every clue is solved, you'll be done.

PB = 25 minutes for half the puzzle, and I gave up. No desire to continue.

Is it ok to post spoilers yet for the Blindauer? I think I have it, have solved every clue as Joon said, but would like to verify that I haven't missed anything. Geez, between this and Joon's Fireball, I really need to go solve a "normal" crossword :-)!

Seriously, an embarrassment of brain bashing! There's a post at Amy's, so we can discuss PB2 over there. We both (all?) missed something...

Man I love my new iPad...I'm posting from backstage at a matinee. I could do that on my phone, but it was much more annoying. :)

I read the Blindauer recap, and changed my time to a dnf; since the two sets of words ended up being connected, there's no justification for not answering all the clues even if all the squares are filled in. The puzzle was not my favorite; in a sense, it took the 'cross' out of crossword. But, I applaud the innovation, and it's nice to get 2 puzzles for the price of one.
