Wow! Had you read that or was it just up your literary alley? I spent a couple minutes on two letters of the quote's last word, the ones from the WTF answers.
BTW, I don't know if I'll be catching up with crosswords before Tuesday, because my router at home is broken...
somewhere in between. i haven't read that book, but i've read a metric ton of nabokov and i was able to get 10 or 12 of the answers on the first pass. that was enough to give me the author and title, so from then it was a sprint to the finish. i also had to pause at PIER, but only for about 30 seconds because i knew it was consonant-vowel and there were only so many possibilities.
