NYT 1:42 ... LAT 1:44 ... CS 2:55 ... ND 1:44 ... JON 2:27 ... BEQ 6:11

So apparently the "NYT Answer Key" guy is retiring. That's a bummer because I don't like doing the NYT in Across Lite without hearing from Mr. Happy Pencil. I hit the wrong key on the applet today -- going forward I'll just "Check My Solution" and subtract a couple seconds from the NYT time to reflect applet delay...

that guy's outspoken right-wingness kind of turned me off, to be honest. also, this isn't generally known, but there is another tool available to unlock .puz files. if you think real hard, i bet you can even guess who to ask about it.

If only there were someone, let's call him, J. Pahk (no, that's too obvious ... how about Joon P.) who subscribed to the NYT, knew how to unlock puzzles, and could run cron jobs. That person could then automatically download the NYT every day and automatically post the solution code online. Alas, such a person is merely a figment of my imagination.

Thanks for the hints, guys! And now I know what a "cron job" is.
(Yeah, I learned to ignore the political lunacy at "EarlyBird"'s site...)
