I read the note for the CHE puzzle before solving, which explains my relatively fast time.
That's no reason for an asterisk, David. I always read the note.
i didn't read the note, but also didn't need it to figure out the theme. oh, and hey, the note didn't tell me anything i wasn't already doing. :)
